The Airfare Index tracks fare activity in 165 city-pairs, originating in the Asia Pacific region, with destinations throughout the world. Like the components of a consumer price index, these 165 city-pairs represent a 'basket of goods' whose contents are held constant (as far as practicable) over time. This assists in estimating changes in price levels for the overall Asia Pacific air travel market. The airfares surveyed are from published fares available for ticketing on the first working day in the quarter.
